Sally Bills Bailey, NWS/NWWS
Living at the base of Mt. Hood for over 25 years, Sally Bills Bailey has long been known in the Gorge and nationally for her paintings which reflect her love of mountains, snow, trees, and wilderness. Winters spent in the Southwest offer new challenges of warm colors, and dynamic rugged landscapes.
She is known for her vivid paintings with bold shapes and bold colors in both watercolor and acrylic on canvas. Sally achieves these bold colors by using lots of pigment and not much water. She constantly composes paintings in her mind – noting the light, shapes and colors she sees -- to be used later in her paintings. Sally enjoys creating both abstract and realistic artwork. The Gorge and Mt. Hood remain one of her favorite subjects: No two paintings are ever the same.
Sally has received numerous national awards for her work as a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society (NWS), the Northwest Watercolor Society, and the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
Her paintings are currently exhibited at the Portland Museum Rental/Sales Gallery and in Hood River, Oregon. You are invited to visit Sally at her home studio to see a complete collection of works.

Laurie Stephens
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington) for over 25 years, and recently rekindled my passion for
painting after a 40-year hiatus. The spark came unexpectedly during the early days of the pandemic when my son returned from college and invited me to collaborate on a large mural project. Immersed once again in the vibrancy of color and the joy of creative expression, I found myself drawn back to art in full force. I am now very fortunate to be able to spend time between the Columbia River Gorge and Baja, both of which offer endless possibilities for creative inspiration from the natural world - forests, mountains, rivers and streams, orchards and flowers, sea and sand.
I work in traditional media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic and pastel), as well as digital and mixed media. All of these approaches allow me to play with color, composition, texture, and light, to create pieces that evoke emotion and connection to the places I love to explore.
